Exemplified by Demetrius, the church learns that the heralding person is a Christian whose life is marked by happiness, holiness, and the heralding of Christ in his or her life. Furthermore, Pastor Harris encourages the church to live a life heralding Christ by displaying Him with their lives and declaring Him with their lips.

3 John 1-14, Focus: 3 John 1-8
"What is a church person?" This is the question Pastor Stacey Harris asks as he begins a new three week study in Third John entitled Church People. Of the three types of church people outlined by John, Pastor Harris teaches the congregation that each "church person" displays characteristics of all, but embodies one more predominantly than the others. To begin the series he examines Gaius, "the helping person," and outlines the characteristics of such a person within the church by studying his relationships, reputation, and actions.
