Welcome to the spring semester of Trinity University, where we will be offering four different courses on a variety of Biblical subjects completely free of cost to anyone interested in immersing themselves in the Word in an entirely new way!
The aim of Trinity University is to educate each student in a specific subject directly related to the Bible or using the Bible as a primary resource, within a structured, classroom environment.

Registration is NOT required for these courses.
Regular Bible Study with Pastor Steve will continue in room 301 as normal throughout Trinity University.

8-Week Health Initiative
Clinic & The Daniel Plan

This course will be divided into two separate teaching elements:
Health Clinic with Dr. Sean Simonds & Dr. Jenn
March 4: Dr. Sean Simonds, PT and Dr. Gary Simonds, neurosurgeon, will educate participants in lower back pain and how to treat it.
March 11: Essential Oils for Family Wellness with Dr. Jenn
Learn about using the amazing power of plants to help support your family’s wellness. We will learn the basics of how to use oils, how to choose which oils you need, and some safety concerns around oils so that you can confidently and successful use these amazing tools to help support your family through winter wellness, athletics, sleep, and so much more!
March 18: Ways to Naturally Treat Neck Pain and Tips for Avoiding It with Dr. Jenn
It seems like everybody gets neck pain and headaches at some point, but why? We will go over basic ways to treat neck pain and headaches, when you need to seek medical advice, and some changes you can make to help avoid having the issues all together.
March 25: Dr. Sean Simonds will be educate participants in diabetes and how to help manage it with exercise.

The Daniel plan is a 40-day journey to a healthy lifestyle, based on five elements for lasting change. Lasting change requires building your life on the truth, making wise choices, establishing new ways of thinking, allowing God’s Spirit in your life, and participating in honest community.
This class will delve into the five key areas of the Daniel Plan: faith, food, fitness, focus, and friends. Learn how this lasting lifestyle change is not based on your willpower, but God’s power!

Develop a new understanding of how God sees you.

Christine Caine is passionate about seeing every woman equipped to live her life on mission for Jesus. In this 7-session study, you’ll develop a new understanding of how God sees you and has chosen you to help make Jesus’ name known on this planet.
Through biblical teaching and lessons from her own life, Christine will challenge you to share the story of how God’s love has transformed your life right where you are.

About Our Teachers

Dr. Sean Simonds
Dr. Sean Simonds earned his BS in kinesiology and exercise science from James Madison University in 2007, with honors. During his undergraduate years, he spent time volunteering in an outpatient physical therapy clinic and in-patient facility with occupational therapy, served as a teaching assistant, and ran an exercise physiology lab. Sean earned a doctorate degree in physical therapy at St. Francis University in 2010, with honors. During his doctorate education, he enjoyed the exceptional opportunity of completing a clinical rotation in Tuscany, Italy. In 2010, Sean passed his physical therapy national board examination for full certification as a practicing physical therapist.
In 2014, Sean participated in a sub-specialty Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency through a combined program between Movement for Life and the University of Southern California. He went on to pass the boards in the discipline and is now one of only a select few physical therapists who hold a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialists (OCS).
In addition to the above degrees and certifications, Sean is a certified Kinesio-Tape Practitioner (CKTP), a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and a Certified Rock Steady Boxing Instructor (therapeutic boxing for patients with Parkinson’s Disease). Sean possesses expertise in multiple fields of physical therapy. His specialty interests include sports performance enhancement, sports injury avoidance, and orthopedics. He recently published a book on the prevention of cruciate ligaments in athletes. Sean married his wife, Katherine, after proposing at St. Giles Cathedral in Scotland. His wife is an art history PhD candidate at the University of Arizona. Sean is an avid sports enthusiast (soccer above all else!), and loves traveling. He spends his free time playing with his Labrador, studying Italian, exercising, biking, hiking, and boating. His hobbies also include Scottish history, photography, and playing stringed instruments (guitar, mandolin, and ukulele).
Dr. Jennifer Sales Slechter
Dr. Jennifer Sales Slechter is a local chiropractor and the owner of WNC Chiropractic. She received her Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a minor in chemistry and a concentration in exercise and sports science. She then attended Parker College of Chiropractic where she earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic and another Bachelor of Science in health and wellness. She graduated as the valedictorian of her class.
Since graduation, she has also earned certifications in sports medicine and prenatal and pediatric care. The focus of her practice is helping families and athletes achieve their greatest potential by supporting their health and function.
Dr. Jenn and her husband, Scott, have two young boys, Parker and Brooks, and they greatly enjoy hanging out as a family and playing golf.
Trish Moore
Called to establish and lead a health and wellness ministry in 1998, Trish Moore  has a God-driven passion for Trinity’s congregational health. Trish has been a registered nurse for 32 years, and possesses the firm belief that God’s Holy Spirit gives each member of His church the gift of grace and wisdom, enabling them to be good stewards of their health and equipping them for their God-given purpose in life.


Adam Guice 

Pastor Adam has been serving on staff at Trinity of Fairview for the last 16 years. He served faithfully as the student pastor for most of that time, and has served as the executive & education pastor for the past three years.
He was born and raised in West Asheville and graduated from Erskine College in 2003 with a christian education degree and a family studies minor.
He has a wife of 17 years, Sherry, and three wonderful kids, Aleigha (11), Evan (8), and Annelise (5). He also enjoys coaching golf, basketball, and cross country.

Michelle Kelly

Michelle Kelly is the director of Trinity’s preschool ministries and the educational administrator for Trinity of Fairview Academy, Weekday Kids Preschool and Trinity Summer Camp. She joined the Trinity of Fairview staff in August of 2015.
Michelle grew up in a rural community outside of Indianapolis, Indiana, where small towns were everything. Along with being a school administrator, she was a high school teacher. She loves teaching teens as much as she loves teaching little ones. She also loves coffee, talking, and a good book!
