What is Room In The Inn?

Room in the Inn is a service facilitated by Homeward Bound WNC, which partners with faith communities throughout the area to provide a group of 12 ladies food, evening activities, and a safe place to sleep for a week as they pursue permanent housing.

How Does It Work?

Room in the Inn runs from Sunday to Sunday. The ladies arrive on our campus on a Sunday night and will stay with us until the following Sunday morning.
A day at Room in the Inn is as follows:  Breakfast is provided for the ladies every morning and they are given a lunch to take with them for the afternoon. Following breakfast, we transport the ladies off-campus to spend the day. At 6:00 p.m. we pick them up again and bring them back to the church campus for a hot meal and a shower. Evening activities are planned for the ladies each night. After that, it’s lights out and the day starts again the following morning!

Get Involved

As you can tell, this is an eventful week! There are so many volunteers and donations needed for these ladies during their stay. From shampoo to bedding; van drivers to overnight hosts; those willing to prepare meals or provide snacks to those who can set up or tear down—we hope you, your family and friends, or your small group will consider volunteering and/or donating.
Please remember to review the Room in the Inn expectations and responsibilities for volunteers here.
